What the current site collects
Decision guides
The current public site is made up of static decision guides and does not ask you to create an account or submit an interactive software questionnaire.
Server and security logs
The web-hosting provider may process technical information such as IP address, browser/user-agent information, requested URLs, timestamps and error or security events in ordinary server logs. This is used to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the website.
Email enquiries
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send. We use it to respond and manage the enquiry and any records reasonably required for the resulting business relationship or legal obligations.
External links
When you follow a link to a software vendor, government website, affiliate network or other external service, that third party processes data under its own privacy terms.
Lawful bases
Depending on the activity, processing may rely on legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, steps requested by you before entering or performing a contract, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where the law requires it.
How long information is kept
Email and operational records are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected. Hosting-log retention depends on the hosting configuration and provider.
Who information may be shared with
Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the site or communications, such as the web host and email provider. We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not sell personal data to advertisers.
Your rights
UK data-protection law gives individuals rights that can include access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, depending on the circumstances and lawful basis. To make a request, email hello@uksoftwarestack.co.uk.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. See ICO guidance for the public.
